Make your Japanese handwriting feel beautifully natural — and take the true spirit of Japan into yourself.
Does any of the following sound like you?
 Â
- You visited Japan, met Japanese people, history, traditions and food, etc., and fell in love with them. So you started to learn Japanese.
Â
- You've been fascinated by Japanese anime, manga or games (or all of them!), and thinking "I wish I could step into that world (or go to Japan)!"
Â
- You're so interested, but feeling scared to enter the world of Japanese which looks so complicated and impossible to master by yourself...
Â
- You've been learning to write Japanese characters from textbooks, but somehow they don't look like the ones written by the native speakers.
Â
- You're feeling a bit overwhelmed by learning hundreds of new kanji.
Â
- You are hoping to find fellow Japanese learners to support each other, ask questions, and practise together.
Â
Â
Either way, there's so much fascination, mixed with just a bit of overwhelm.Â
Â
Then, let me help you.
↓

I will help you understand...
Â
-
the rules and patterns that native Japanese speakers follow when learning kanji,
Â
- why your Japanese handwriting looks different from a native speaker's,
Â
- how you can make your writing feel BEAUTIFULLY NATURAL.Â
Â
Before habits settle in, it’s important to practise mindfully – with the right form, from the start.
And it’s never too late – once you learn the right principles, you’ll be able to gently adjust your writing on your own.
I will also help you to...Â
Â
learn and write beautiful Japanese summer phrases (just like the ones I post on Instagram) – with gentle cultural explanations to help you understand their deeper meaning,
Â
when you enrol in my Japanese Mindful Handwriting Course: Summer version.
Â
Immerse yourself in the world of Japanese culture.

Here's what led me to create this course.
Let me share the story behind this course – and what it means to me.
I was born in Tokyo, Japan, and spent four of my teenage years at a British boarding school, after moving to the U.K. because of my father’s work.
At first, I struggled — with the language, and with all the cultural differences.
But over time, I came to deeply enjoy the richness of British culture.
I experienced firsthand how learning a new language and immersing yourself in a different culture can truly transform your life. It opened doors I never even knew existed.
Learning a completely different language and culture is, at the very least, a beautiful and life-expanding experience.
I truly loved living within British — and more broadly, European — cultures.
But even as I enjoyed it, I felt a quiet sense of unease whenever I looked at my wonderful British friends.
Because I was the only one who knew "the Japan side" of life.
Of course, they were perfectly happy without knowing my country. But I couldn’t help thinking:
There’s a whole world they don’t even know exists.
A world shaped by different histories, different values.
You can live your life without ever encountering it — and that’s perfectly fine.
In fact, those different values might confuse you. They might even make you uncomfortable.
So then… why bother?
Well — because it expands your world in ways you could never have imagined.
It changes you. And it changes your life.
I want you to experience that, too.
That’s why I created the Japanese Mindful Handwriting Course.
Let your journey of writing kanji become a way of living inside Japanese culture.

Have Questions?
Â
I’m still a beginner with Japanese. Is this course suitable for me?
Yes — absolutely. This course was designed with new learners in mind. You don’t need to be fluent or know hundreds of kanji.
We begin gently, with key characters, and I guide you step by step. Writing helps you understand Japanese better — not just remember it.
I’m not confident in my handwriting. Will I be able to improve?
Yes. In fact, many people start practising because they feel unsure about their handwriting.
Through guided practice, examples, and mindfulness techniques, you’ll learn not only how to shape each character, but how to enjoy the act of writing itself — with calm and self-compassion.
I’ve never taken a course like this online before. What if I fall behind?
This course is completely self-paced, and you have lifetime access.
There’s no rush, no pressure. You’re encouraged to return to lessons whenever you like — just like you might return to a favourite poem or a peaceful walk.
Please note: For the 30 participants receiving the personal feedback bonus, the feedback period will be limited to 12 months from the start of the course.
Do I need any special tools?
Not at all. This course doesn’t use a traditional brush, so all you need is a pen or pencil and some paper or a notebook.
I recommend using a 4B pencil if possible – it gives a soft, expressive line that’s perfect for practice.
How will I receive feedback on my writing?
(For the first 30 participants only)
After watching each course video, simply write the kanji or phrases you practised (from the lesson) on any paper you like. Then take a photo or create a PDF and send it to me by email.
I’ll review your work, add red corrections and comments, and send it back to you with personalised advice.
Please note:For the 30 participants receiving the personal feedback bonus, the feedback period will be limited to 12 months from the start of the course, with up to one submission per module – a total of five submissions.
How long does the course take to complete?
We’ll start on 4th August with Module 1, and a new module will be released each week. The full course will take five weeks to complete.
Can I ask questions even if I don’t have the feedback bonus?
Yes, absolutely.
There will be a Q&A live session halfway through the course and another at the end.
You’re also welcome to email me your questions at any time – I’ll be happy to answer them.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes, of course.
If you join and find the course isn’t right for you, simply let us know within 14 days, and you’ll receive a full refund.
You deserve to feel safe in your learning journey.
If this speaks to you, I’d be honoured to welcome you inside.
Â
I truly look forward to welcoming you. See you inside the course!
If you’re still on the fence… let's do a little maths.
