霜降（-Soko- 霜はじめて降る）

こんにちは！10月23日は霜降（そうこう）、この秋初めて霜（しも）が降る季節になってきました。この二十四節気（にじゅうしせっき）というカレンダーは旧暦（きゅうれき）と言って昔のカレンダーに基づいているのでひと月くらいずれているはずなのですが、それでも意外と今に当てはまるのが面白いです。数日前も、暖かかった気温が急に寒くなってびっくりしました。

Hello! October 23 is called "Soko", the season when the frost first falls in this autumn. This calendar called "Niju-shisekki" is based on the old calendar whose months are a month behind the current ones, but still, it sometimes fits the real seasons, which is quite interesting. Actually, I was suprised a few days ago, when the temperature suddenly fell and it became really cold after the warm days.

個人的なことなのですが、今度私も新しい言語の勉強をしてみようかと思います。興味があるのはフィンランド語です。今まで英語とフランス語、ドイツ語はかじったことがありますが、フィンランド語は全く違う言語だと聞きます。それにフィンランドには素敵な食器やデザイン家具があるので、いつか行ってみたい国なんです。

Personally, I am thinking of starting to learn a new language. I am interested in Finnish. I have learnt English, and done a bit of French and German, but I hear that Finnish is a totally different language. Finland is a country I want to visit sometime, because they have many nice design tablewares and funitures.

それに全く新しい言語の勉強をすることで、日本語を勉強しているみなさんの気持ちに近づきたかったのもあります。最近私は言語の勉強を全然していなかったので、何を知りたいだろう、何があったら嬉しいだろう、という気持ちの想像がしにくかったのですが、フィンランド語を勉強することで、みなさんと同じ気分になれるかもしれません。みなさんの役に少しでも立てれば、一石二鳥（いっせきにちょう）です。

And also, by learning a totally new language, I want to feel as you, who are learning Japanese. I wasn't learning a language recently, so it was a bit difficult to imagine what you want to know, or what you wish to have as a tool, etc.. But by learning Finnish, I may become to feel as you do. If the learning helps you, then I can kill two birds with one stone.

 This proverb is said to be introduced from England to Japan. 

なので、これから新しいチャレンジをしてみますね！まずは以前買ったフィンランド語のテキストを見つけ出すところから・・・。

So, I'm going to challenge a new thing! I must start from finding the Finnish textbook I bought before....
